Can I edit text that's already in the PDF?

Yes — click any detected text block to edit it in place, in its original position, font size, and color. This works on native (non-scanned) PDF text.

What does Whiteout actually do to the content underneath?

It draws an opaque box over the selected area in the saved PDF — the covered content is visually hidden but the underlying text may still exist in the file's data. For content you need to be unrecoverable, this isn't a substitute for true redaction.

Can I fill out an existing PDF form?

Yes — the Form tool detects existing fillable fields (text, checkbox, dropdown, radio) in the PDF and lets you fill or edit them directly, alongside adding new fields of your own.

Does adding a signature make the PDF legally binding?

The Sign tool draws or types a signature onto the page visually, the same as signing a printed page. It isn't a certified digital signature (with cryptographic identity verification) — check your use case's requirements if that distinction matters.
